Arsenal of Democracy Flyover at Manassas Airport
See Texas Raiders and a stunning array of WWII Warbirds in the Washington DC area! As part of a thrilling two-day celebration, nearly 100 vintage warbirds are expected to participate in the Arsenal of Democracy Flyover, which will coincide with a ceremony at the National World War II Memorial to commemorate the end of WWII in Europe. This vast array of U.S. and Allied WWII aircraft will fly overhead in 24 historically sequenced warbird formations. You don't want to miss this once in a lifetime event to see the warbirds overhead as they commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE day with a fly-over of the National Mall Friday, May 8, 2020.
Texas Raiders will arrive at Manassas Regional Airport in Manassas, Virginia on Monday, May 4. The CAF Gulf Coast Wing will offer flights in the historic bomber on the afternoons of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday May 4, 6, 7, and 8 as well as following the flyover during the weekend of May 9 and 10, at the Manassas Regional Airport Terminal, 10600 Harry J Parrish Blvd, Manassas, VA 20110. Also note that parking space at Manassas is extremely limited; we recommending car-pooling and utilizing ride sharing services.
Texas Raiders was the first Flying Fortress to be operated solely for the sake of education and use as a flying museum. She is an accurately restored B-17, and bristles with machine guns and features period-specific equipment. Attendees who want the ultimate Flying Fortress experience can make a reservation now for one of the limited number of 25-minute flights on the classic aircraft.
